CFO School ("CFO School", "we", "us", "our") is an online corporate-finance learning product available at learn-finance.com, operated by Ashwin Chandrasekar as an individual (sole proprietor), based in India. You can reach us any time at support@learn-finance.com.
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are the agreement between you and us for your use of our website, course content, the CFO Simulator game, the AI tutor, certificates, the certification exam, and any related features (together, the "Service"). By using the Service — whether you create an account, make a purchase, or just play the Simulator — you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have the authority to accept these Terms for that organization. You should be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live (and at least 18 in India); if you are younger, please use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
CFO School is a self-paced course that teaches corporate-finance concepts through 24 learning modules, an interactive browser game called the "CFO Simulator" (where you run a fictional coffee company, "Brewbox", as its CFO), an AI tutor, a shareable course-completion certificate, and a certification exam.
We offer two ways to use the Service:
The CFO Simulator can be played with no sign-in at all. We may add, change, or remove features over time to improve the Service, but we won't remove a major paid feature you're relying on without making a reasonable effort to offer something comparable.
You can browse much of the Service, and play the Simulator, without an account. To save your progress across devices and to access paid lessons, you'll need to sign in using email and password or Google sign-in (powered by Google Firebase).
When you create an account, please:
You're responsible for activity that happens under your account. A paid subscription is for your personal use and isn't transferable.
Pricing. The paid subscription is a 1-year plan at a launch price of ₹299 (list price ₹499). For users outside India, the price is charged in your local currency via card, based on prevailing rates. The price shown to you at checkout is the price that applies to your purchase. Prices may change for future purchases, but a change won't affect a subscription you've already paid for during its term.
How payment works. Payments are processed securely by our payment partner, Razorpay, including international cards and UPI. We do not receive or store your full card details. Your subscription gives you access for one (1) year from the date of purchase. Unless we tell you otherwise at checkout, the subscription does not auto-renew — when the year ends, your paid access simply expires and you can choose to subscribe again.
14-day money-back guarantee. We want you to buy with confidence. If you're not happy for any reason, you can request a full refund within 14 days of your purchase — no questions asked.
How to get a refund. Just email us at support@learn-finance.com from your account email within 14 days of purchase and ask for a refund. We'll approve it and process the refund back to your original payment method through Razorpay. Refunds typically appear within a few business days, depending on your bank or card provider. After the 14-day window, the subscription is non-refundable for the remainder of the term, except where a refund is required by applicable law.
We want CFO School to stay useful and fair for everyone. When using the Service, please don't:
If you seriously or repeatedly break these rules, we may suspend or close your account. Where it's fair to do so, we'll try to give you notice first.
All of the course content, lessons, text, graphics, the CFO Simulator and the Brewbox storyline, flashcards, exam questions, certificates, logos, and software that make up the Service are owned by us (or our licensors) and are protected by copyright and other laws.
While your subscription is active, we give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the content for your own learning. You may take personal notes and use what you learn freely in your own work and career. You may not copy, publish, resell, or share the content itself, or use it to build a competing product, without our written permission. The notes you write and content you create stay yours.
Please read this carefully. CFO School is an educational product designed to help you learn corporate-finance concepts. It is NOT financial, investment, accounting, legal, or tax advice, and nothing in the course, the AI tutor, the certificate, or the exam should be treated as professional advice or a recommendation to take any specific action.
The CFO Simulator and the "Brewbox" coffee company are entirely fictional, built for practice and learning. Numbers, scenarios, and outcomes in the Simulator are illustrative and are not real-world guidance for running an actual business or making real financial decisions.
Before making any real financial, investment, accounting, legal, or tax decision, please consult a qualified professional who can consider your specific situation. You are responsible for any decisions you make, and you act on information from the Service at your own discretion.
We work hard to keep the Service accurate, helpful, and available, but we can't promise perfection. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee that the content is error-free, that the Service will always be uninterrupted, or that it will produce any particular result, grade, certification, or career outcome.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from any financial, investment, business, or other decision you make based on the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that can't legally be limited, or any rights you have as a consumer under applicable law that can't be excluded.
We'll send you essential service emails related to your account and purchases — for example, sign-in, payment receipts, refunds, and important changes to the Service. These are part of using CFO School.
We'll only send you marketing emails — like finance tips, product updates, and offers — if you've consented to receive them. You can opt out at any time using the one-click unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by emailing support@learn-finance.com. Opting out of marketing won't stop the essential service emails you need to manage your account.
How we handle your personal data (including email, name, learning progress, payments, analytics, and approximate location used only to choose your display currency) is described in our Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms from time to time — for example, when we add features or to keep up with legal requirements. If we make a significant change, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know, such as posting a notice on the site or emailing you. The "Last updated" date below always shows the current version. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, that means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree with a change, you can stop using the Service and, where applicable, rely on the refund terms above.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India will have jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live. If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will continue to apply.
Questions about these Terms? We're happy to help — just email us at support@learn-finance.com, or write to Ashwin Chandrasekar at the email above.
